Agatha's Time in Architecture School, While Brief, Was Very Productive

"Agatha" is a small imagined character study in the form of a self-contained “library” of curated objects. Part writing, part modified book, part woodworking, this piece explores the visual interpretations of memory as chaos contained within fabricated structures.
One of the things I crave to find is meaning in found objects. Collecting the parts that make up many of my book arts pieces, I find that I tell myself stories about each piece as I add it to the work. My goal in these archives is to create small biographical sketches of people who do not exist, and allow the viewer to explore the impulse to make meaning and connections where none may otherwise be and explore the role that storytelling plays as we try to make sense of the world.
