Vulpes Bastille Art Gallery and Project Space is looking for artist exhibitions of all mediums for the 2019 programming year. Vulpes Bastille is comprised of a large gallery, smaller gallery, and studio spaces located in a 6,000 square foot warehouse in the heart of the East Crossroads Arts District of Kansas City, Missouri.
We are accepting curatorial projects, group exhibitions of all visual mediums, installations, performance based work. We are open to applications for solo exhibitions, performances, and screenings in our newly opened project space.
Duo and group shows are highly encouraged in our larger gallery due to the massive scale of the exhibition space. Proposals are accepted by individual artists, groups of artists, or curators.

We have created a form for submissions - WE RECOMMEND typing and editing your responses in Google Docs or Word because the form will not save unfinished proposals. If you have trouble with the form or the application process, questions can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org
PLEASE NOTE: There are now two exhibition spaces available. Please indicate if you would like the larger space for a group or duet show, or the smaller gallery for a solo show.

NOTE: ALL EXHIBITIONS WILL REQUIRE A $75 GALLERY RENTAL FEE DUE AT THE TIME OF YOUR SHOW. THIS APPLICATION FEE GOES TOWARDS THAT AMOUNT. ALL ART OR TICKET SALES ARE SUBJECT TO A 20% COMMISSION TO SUPPORT THE GALLERY.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PROPOSALS:
1: EXHIBITION PROPOSAL (500-750 words) :
Describe your exhibition, the intention behind the showcase, what type of work presented, and how the work will be installed / hung. Note that we are available to assist with lighting, but it is the responsibility of the artist to install and deinstall their work. We are not responsible for any damages to work either, please note!
This proposal should include: how many pieces and size of work presented, your preferred months of exhibitions, special lighting or other installation requirements, and also why Vulpes Bastille is an ideal space to exhibit your work.
Framed paper work and canvases that are ready to hang are recommended. We have several white pedestals available for sculpture and 3D work. There are two walls that are exceptionally tall and can display work up to 15 feet in height.
2: AN ARTIST STATEMENT OR LETTER OF INTENT: (250-500 words):
Describe your body of work, your working methods such as materials or styles, your overall message or philosophy, and any other interesting information about your artistic practice.
3: 1-6 IMAGES OF YOUR WORK.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR KCAI SENIOR STUDENTS: We have allocated March, April, and May for KCAI senior showcases. It is highly recommended that you apply as a group (only one entry payment required). We have allotted two shows per month if needed.
